According to Paul Ekman´s reasearch, there are 7 basic emotions, which are independent from the cultural background. They seem to be genetecally conditioned and can be found in the mimics of alle people. They are expressed in the same way, regardless of whether the people are Japanese, Greek, Australian or African. These 7 basic emotions are:

#2 – DISGUST
#3 – CONTEMPT
#4 – HAPPINESS
#5 – SADNESS
#6 – FEAR
#7 – SURPRISE
